Whitehall Resources require a SAP ABAP Developer to work with a key client on an initial 6 month contract.
*Fully remote position – working LATAM time zone.
*Spanish and English fluency required.
SAP ABAP Developer
The Role
As a Senior SAP ABAP Developer, you will play a key role in the development and delivery of ABAP solutions within an S/4HANA environment, supporting a range of SAP modules including FI, CO, SD, MM, FICA, BRIM, TRM and SCM.
You will work closely with SAP functional teams and business stakeholders to translate functional requirements into robust, scalable technical solutions. You will also support business users throughout acceptance testing and contribute to the continuous improvement of development standards, processes and services.
The development environment is test-driven, so you will be responsible for planning, executing and documenting unit, integration, performance and regression testing throughout the development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop, enhance and deliver high-quality ABAP solutions within SAP S/4HANA.
* Translate functional and business requirements into clear technical design specifications.
* Work closely with SAP functional teams and business stakeholders to deliver effective solutions.
* Support business users during acceptance testing and resolve technical issues as required.
* Plan, execute and document unit, integration, performance and regression testing.
* Follow object-oriented development principles and established SAP coding standards.
* Contribute proactively to the optimisation of development processes, standards and services.
* Keep up to date with emerging SAP technologies and continuously expand your technical expertise.
* Collaborate across workstreams to ensure successful integration of solutions and processes.
Skills & Experience Required
* 7+ years of SAP ABAP development experience.
* Strong hands-on experience with SAP ABAP and ABAP Object-Oriented Programming (ABAP-OOP).
* Object-oriented programming principles should be a natural part of your day-to-day development approach.
* Solid experience working within SAP S/4HANA environments and familiarity with S/4HANA coding standards and best practices.
* Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
* Experience with RICEF development across multiple SAP modules.
* Excellent understanding of technical integration across different SAP workstreams.
* Experience with test management and structured software testing.
* Fluent Spanish and a good level of spoken English are essential.
* Additional language skills would be advantageous.
* Candidates must be based in the LATAM region and able to work in a LATAM time zone, with Argentina preferred.
Nice to Have
Experience in the following areas would be highly advantageous:
* SAP UI5 / Fiori application development.
* RAP (RESTful Application Programming Model).
* CDS Views and OData services.
* Workflow automation.
* Cross-functional knowledge of SCM processes, particularly SAP MM, SD and FI.
* Integration across multiple SAP functional and technical workstreams.
* Test management and quality assurance processes.
* Extensive experience with S/4HANA development and coding practices.
